Dry and Wet Riser Mains are intended for use by the Fire Service. Dry Risers provide a readily available means of delivering considerable quantities of water to extinguish or to prevent the spread of fire.

Dry Risers comprise vertical mains which are fitted into staircase enclosures or other suitable positions. They have outlets fitted at ground level to enable the Fire Brigade to connect into the water supply ready for immediate use in an emergency.

British Standards recommends that the system is visually inspected every 6 months and serviced annually to ensure that the equipment is ready for immediate use in an emergency.
