An essential element of providing a safe building is to retain fire compartmentation. This prevents the spread of fire and smoke, allowing more time for safe total evacuation. In the event of a fire, damage will be limited by restricting the fire growth prior to Brigade attendance.

At A&E we are able to provide a variety of services to ensure your fireproofing is acceptable such as regular checks to fire doors, closers etc and full survey and report (photographic). This includes ceiling voids, plant rooms, minor repairs and maintenance with full repair and certification of works.

Over a period of time many buildings suffer damage to fireproofing. Often various contractors will punch holes in compartments for cable/pipe work routing etc. This often goes unnoticed within ceiling voids but can promote rapid spread of fire if left unattended. It is essential to control contractors' works to make good any damage to fireproofing with the correct materials and methods.
