Accreditations, Health & Safety
Accreditations
A&E Fire and Security Ltd now have an internal Quality Management system, verified and approved by BAFE and NSI, with whom we also hold accreditations. The Company Quality Manual is provided to ensure that all employees and customers are aware of the organisation systems and processes necessary to achieve the required quality of service. Staff are required to comply with this Quality Policy and implementation of the Company Quality Management Processes. It is the responsibility of all employees to ensure that Quality Processes and their associated procedures are understood, implemented and maintained. Contractors are issued a copy.
- Our internal Management System ensures that site audits of our engineers are conducted and completed based on the relevant British Standard to which the work is required to be carried out to. This includes Health and Safety requirements (including compliance with specific risk assessment & method statements for the work) and any customer service requirements.
- We carry out a minimum of one quality site audit a month per engineer. Each specific installation project has a mid-site progress audit and a final site audit. Our Installation Manager visits Installations Engineers on a weekly basis to carry out verification that the work is in compliance with the specification of the project.
BAFE
We are BAFE accredited in respect of Fire Alarm and Detection Systems. This certifies our activities in the design, installation, commissioning/handover, maintenance and verification of fire detection and fire alarm systems to SP203-1 and BS5839-1 and BS5839-6.
BAFE develops schemes to support quality standards for fire protection companies to achieve and become third party certified. This independently acknowledges their competency to provide specific fire protection services. BAFE is completely independent and therefore is a totally unbiased party to help competent companies and people in need of fire protection services find each other. There are registered companies across the UK and are both large nationals and smaller regional businesses who have all achieved the same high-quality standards.
BAFE SP205
Fire Risk Assessment
A quality fire risk assessment is a vital obligation in fire safety legislation for all non-domestic/commercial buildings nationwide.
As the person or team appointed responsible for fire safety in your building (Responsible Person/Duty Holder), you can perform this assessment yourself. However, if you are not 100% confident in your ability to fulfil this important task then BAFE strongly recommends using an appropriately Third Party Certificated provider.
All fire risk assessments performed under the BAFE SP205 Scheme are checked and signed off by a designated Validator within the Third Party Certificated organization. This person must meet the strong competency requirements for Validators and be able to demonstrate, through records, that the validation process is carried out objectively and is a separate activity to the fire risk assessment. This process allows for a thorough check of the work undertaken before it is provided to the end user/client.
NSI Silver
We are an NSI Silver approved company, which demonstrates the quality of our work and can provide the reassurance that we work to the highest industry standards demanded by the Police and the insurance industry.
Some of the many benefits of working with an NSI approved company are:
- All company personnel have been security screened to British Standard 7858.
- NSI will only approve a company once it is capable of demonstrating technical and managerial competence and once approved is regularly audited to ensure consistent compliance.
- All NSI approved companies installing intruder alarms must operate a 24 hour call out service and must be able to respond to emergencies within a 4 hour period.
- Insurers often specify use of NSI approved companies to carry out specific contracts.
