I had worked within the Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue service for 18 years and another 17 years within the Airport Fire service, before I decided to retire and become Fire Safety Trainer for A&E. My day to day includes either driving to different locations across the UK or carrying out Fire Training at our Cheltenham premises. My days are always varied due to changing location, as well as the different courses that I provide.
He has acquired the following qualifications:
- Level 2 safe airside operations (Airports)
- IQ level 3 Award in preparing to Teach in the lifelong Learning Sector (QCF)
- Edexcel Level 3 Award in Assessing candidates in a range of methods

Do you need to have Trained Fire Wardens by Law?
Yes, under the provisions of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, you are obliged to offer general fire safety training for all members of staff, and specialist fire Marshal/Warden training for allocated people.
60% of businesses don’t recover from a fire, and most fires are preventable. The most imperative action you can take as the employer, or ‘responsible person’ is to train your staff to know what to do in the case of a fire emergency. This small action can be the difference between a small, prevented fire and a catastrophic incident.
All courses will enable you to comply with the legal requirement for fire training in accordance with the UK law – The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, section 21.

Do I need Fire Training if I work alone?
Whether you work in a busy office full of people, or are a freelancer who works alone, it is always important to practice fire safety.
Your average fire training course will take no longer than an hour or two and will teach you everything you need to know about fire prevention and safety.
