An important Policy Change by Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service.
From 1st August 2015, Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service will not respond to calls generated by an automatic fire alarm at anytime, unless:
– Your premises are automatically exempted. This includes any premises that hold a sleeping risk. For example, Hospitals, Sheltered accommodation and nursing homes. (please see guidance at www.glosfire.gov.uk for a definitive list);
– A temporary exemption has been granted for your premises (under exceptional circumstances);
– You have investigated and confirmed that there is a fire OR physical signs of a fire. A 999 call must be made in both cases.
Please visit the Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue website for the reasons for the changes to our policy and gives advice and guidance for what the responsible person should do.
Do not hesitate to contact us to discuss this policy change and how we can help your organisation.
