A quality fire risk assessment is a vital obligation in fire safety legislation for all non-domestic/commercial buildings nationwide.

Evaluating the potential fire risk factors within your school, college or university is key for keeping students and staff safe. Fire Risk Assessments for schools were made mandatory by the Fire Safety (Regulatory Reform) Order of 2005. It states that a responsible person of any non-domestic premises must carry out and regularly review an assessment in order to eliminate the risk of fire and identify persons at risk. Schools, colleges, nurseries, and other education premises that employ or house more than 5 people are required to carry out a Fire Risk Assessment and to document the findings in writing.

Due to the significant responsibility placed on the Responsible Person/Duty Holder for premises and organisation it is strongly recommended to use an appropriate Third Party Certified provider.

A&E Fire and Security is Third Party Certified under the BAFE SP205 Life Safety Fire Risk Assessment Scheme which exists to deliver quality, independent evidence that providers are competent to deliver quality fire risk assessment services.

Additionally, A&E Fire and Security provides our customers with Five Million Pounds of Professional Indemnity Insurance. No Fire Risk Assessor should carry out Risk Assessments without this level of insurance cover.
